Subject: Age Friendly Mayo - Setting up of Older People's Council
Hello All,

You are invited to attend a meeting on Monday 10th October, at 2.30pm in Lough Lannagh Village, Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
The main purpose of the meeting is to progress the setting up of the Older Persons Council for Mayo.

As you are aware the Age Friendly Strategy for Mayo was launched in June 2016 by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
This strategy was developed by Mayo Age Friendly Alliance in consultation and co-operation with older people from across the County.
The alliance is made up of senior personnel in Public Sector agencies and other key organisation who are able to make decisions on
behalf of their organisations in terms of service delivery and development.

A critical addition to this alliance membership will be members of the Older Persons Council. It is, therefore, important that the OPC for Mayo is in place as soon as possible
to ensure that the views of older people are well represented at Alliance level and to ensure that the commitments or organisations laid out in this strategy are fulfilled.

If there are other people you know of, or organisations who represent older people that are not included in this email, please invite them to come along as it is essential to recruit as wide and divers a group of older people on to the OPC as possible.

I look forward to meeting you on the 10th of October in Lough Lannagh Village at 2.30pm. An Agenda will follow later.

Kind regards,
Mary Blowick,
Economic & Community Development,
Mayo County Council,
Cedar House,
Co. Mayo.
